Happy New Year - 2008

I love the Rose Parade. It doesn't matter that I have to get up at 8 am to watch it after ringing in the New Year until after midnight. It's just magical - a bit of pixie dust that makes me fly every January 1st no matter my age. I even remember the first Rose Parade after my daughter was born. She was only 6 months old, but I bundled the two of us up and we snuggled on the floor in front of the tv watching the floats, horses, and bands pass by. I explained to her how everything on the floats had to be organic and that my very favorites were the pink roses. I've often thought of going down to Pasadena one year to see the parade in person, but that would require even less sleep and a whole lot of cold. I think I'll stick to my pjs and my fluffy blankets as the straw flower and onion seeds march by with the roses each year.
