Creative Carving

Food art is one of my favorite things...

So carving pumpkins is really right up my alley!

This year my daughter carved Charlie Brown! It was very appropriate, since we watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" every year while we carve. We can practically say it by heart.

My son carved a ... mutant... of some kind. I think it's a very cute mutant.

My pumpkin is waiting to be kissed. :-)

The finished masterpieces!!

Those pumpkins speak volumes about the personalities of the carvers! Well done!

Did you also sing "I had a pumpkin yellow"? I still have memories of pumpkin goo all over the kitchen table, roasting the seeds, lighting the pumpkins, and then (horrors!) watching the black fuzz grow out of the eyes after Halloween. A true complete Halloween experience. Have a good one!

You all are so talented in your pumpkin carving. Our pumpkins never looked that good. Add that to the list of talents that you and your kids possess.

Those are some excellent jack-o-lanterns. I love a good roasted pumpkin seed or (even better) pumpkin pie.

I love them! I love making the pumpkin faces, but I hate (or rather it is not my favorite) touching the goo. I always liked it when Dad did it for me. I'm glad you are making fun memories with your kids too.
