What? It's May?

I feel like I blinked and April happened. I seriously can't believe that 1/3 of the year has passed by.

At least I got a little reading in this last month. Somehow I managed to read these books:

1. Blood Red Horse - K.M. Grant - Apparently the first in a trilogy to come. Another historical novel... this one set during the crusades. Anyone who loves horses in the least bit will really like this book.

2. Chalice - Robin McKinley - A new book by one of my favorite authors. This fairy-tale style story is very well done. I love the energy behind the story's conflict - a young woman chosen to be the Chalice who only knows beekeeping and a young man chosen to be Master who can't touch another person or he'll burn them. Got you interested, huh?

3. Peeled - Joan Bauer - Loved this one! A high school journalist sets out to discover who's behind the "haunting" of a local abandoned house. Of course, she ends up taking on the town newspaper and a mega-developer in the process.

4. Maze of Bones - Rick Riordan - Book One in The 39 Clues - My kids and I are reading this series (I think I mentioned it before) and LOVED the first book. Mysteries are always good because they make you think. This one keeps you fully entertained with the action and humor too. And don't tell the kids... they're learning history in the process!

You amaze me! I think in April I was able to read about two chapters in the book, so I think the blink gave you more time then it gave me. I am just counting down the weeks to summer (5) and then I plan on getting some serious reading done!

Fun! I always love hearing your book picks. I use them all the time in recommending books for my students (and myself). I've been reading a lot more these days, so I might just have to do my own blog post about books. :)

I am amazed, like Robyn, with how many books you get read in a month. I read two and thought I was doing pretty good at that. I am a slow reader. Grandpa is a speed reader. You must be a speed reader too.
